This live underwater camera streams real-time views of sharks and marine life beneath the Frying Pan Tower, located approximately 34-miles off the coast of Cape Fear, North Carolina. Positioned below the offshore structure, the camera captures sharks as they move through the surrounding Atlantic waters.
The tower was originally built in the 1960s as a navigation aid for vessels near Frying Pan Shoals. Today, cameras mounted on and beneath the structure provide a rare look at offshore marine ecosystems, including shark activity, fish movement, and changing underwater conditions.
Did You Know? The waters around Frying Pan Tower are famous among divers for shark encounters. Because the old offshore tower acts like an artificial reef, it attracts huge schools of fish - which in turn draw in sandbar sharks and other predators that often cruise right past this camera.
