Hon Chong Beach - Nha Trang, Vietnam
Palm trees frame the view over Hon Chong Beach (Bãi Hòn Chồng) in Nha Trang, on Vietnam's south-central coast, and this camera looks out across the wide blue bay as waves wash up on the sand.
The beach lies about 2 miles (3 to 4 km) northeast of the city center, next to the Hon Chong promontory, where huge granite boulders are piled up into the sea. North of the rocks, the water is calm and shallow.
Nearby, a short boat ride takes visitors to Hon Do, a tiny island with a pagoda, and the ancient Po Nagar Cham Towers stand about a mile (2 km) south along the same road, making this an easy stop on a Nha Trang day out.
Did You Know? One of Hon Chong's boulders carries a mark shaped like a giant hand, which local legend says a giant left behind.
