Warrior Canine Puppy Playroom - Maryland, USA (Cam 2)

In this playroom in Boyds, Maryland, young Labrador and Golden Retriever pups are learning the ropes of life. They come out to play during the day from about 4 weeks old, and it's all tug-of-war, wobbly chases, chewed toys and puppy piles at nap time.

They're on their way to becoming service dogs for military veterans, and every visitor, noise and new toy helps them grow calm and confident. Labradors and Golden Retrievers are the most common service dog breeds, because they're smart, easy to train and calm around people.

Golden Retrievers were first bred in the Scottish Highlands in the 1800s, to fetch birds for hunters. Don’t miss Cam 1 for another view of the playroom.

Did You Know? Puppies are born with their eyes and ears sealed shut. Both open at around 2 weeks old.
