Woody's Safe Haven - Texel, Netherlands
Geese, chickens and a mix of rescued animals share the outdoor garden of Woody's Veilige Haven, a small animal sanctuary on the island of Texel in the north of the Netherlands. The feed shows the free-roaming birds going about their day across the sanctuary's green grounds, with enclosures, shelters and the lush vegetation of a Texel summer all visible in the frame.
Stichting Woody's Veilige Haven Texel is a donation-funded foundation that provides shelter and care for rescued animals including cats, dogs and guinea pigs alongside the outdoor residents on this feed. The 24-hour stream offers an unedited window into daily life at the sanctuary, from feeding time to quiet afternoons when the garden settles down.
Texel is the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands, reached from the Noord-Holland mainland by a short ferry crossing and known for its open landscapes, nature reserves and unhurried pace.
Did You Know? Texel has more sheep than people. Around 13,000 sheep graze the island's polders and dunes, slightly outnumbering the 13,500 or so human residents. The animals graze on salt-marsh grass that gives the locally produced lamb a distinctive flavour.
