Downtown Telluride - Colorado, USA
This live camera looks down Colorado Avenue, the main street of Telluride, a historic mountain town box canyon in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. The surrounding peaks rise to over 4,000 metres, forming one of the most dramatic backdrops of any town centre camera in North America.
Telluride sits at 2,667 metres above sea level and is one of the most celebrated ski resorts in the American West, drawing visitors year round for skiing in winter and hiking, climbing, and its renowned film and music festivals in summer. The town's entire historic district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The camera is hosted by Alpine Lodging Telluride, giving viewers a permanent front row seat to one of Colorado's most photogenic streets through every season.
Did You Know? Telluride's name is widely believed to derive from tellurium, a rare mineral found in the area during the silver and gold mining boom of the 1870s. The town's first bank was robbed in 1889 by a young Butch Cassidy, making it one of his earliest known heists.
