Founders Game Reserve - Eastern Cape, South Africa
This live waterhole camera sits at Founders Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape, a private reserve bordering the famous Shamwari Private Game Reserve, featured in the Netflix series "Shamwari Untamed". Guests of Founders have access to both reserves.
The reserve is home to rhino, giraffe, zebra, red hartebeest, and exceptional birdlife across a dramatic landscape of red soil plains and rolling hills in the Eastern Cape, one of the most biodiverse regions in southern Africa.
The waterhole is managed by Natural Born Runners, an organisation based at Founders Lodge that hosts endurance running events through the African bush, driven by a genuine passion for wildlife conservation.
Did You Know? Shamwari Private Game Reserve, which borders Founders directly, was once nothing but degraded farmland. In 1992 it was bought and rewilded from scratch, and is now one of the most awarded private game reserves in the world, with the Big Five roaming land that 30 years ago was growing potatoes.
