In dry country, water is everything. Sooner or later every animal has to come to drink, and these live waterhole cams catch the action as it happens.
In Africa, that can mean a herd of elephants rolling in for a mud bath, giraffes splaying their legs to reach the water, or a pride of lions settling in at dusk. With luck you might spot all of the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Further afield, outback waterholes draw kangaroos, dingoes and flocks of desert birds.
Dawn and dusk are usually the busiest times, and the dry season brings the biggest crowds as other water sources disappear.
Every visit is different, so check back often.
