Majete Waterhole Cam 6 - Chikwawa, Malawi
A rounded pool surrounded by woodland is the focus of Majete Waterhole Cam 6 in southern Malawi. Bare earth slopes toward the water, with scattered rocks and fallen wood around its edges. The camera sits close enough to capture elephants wading into the pool and gathering along the opposite bank.
During herd visits, several animals may share the water at once. Calves stand among the adults, trunks dip beneath the surface, and footsteps send ripples across the pool. Trees and dense shrubs enclose the clearing, giving this view a more sheltered feel than Majete’s open waterholes.
Beyond the clearing, Majete Wildlife Reserve contains a mixture of hills, grassland, and woodland. Its restored wildlife populations include elephants, buffalo, antelope, and predators. This camera concentrates on one small meeting point within that landscape, with quiet intervals between animal visits.
Did You Know? Giraffes were introduced to Majete in 2018, adding a browsing herbivore that feeds high in the trees.
