Mount Washington Observation Deck - New Hampshire, USA

This live webcam looks east across the observation deck of the Sherman Adams Building at the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire. The broad paved terrace and curved railing fill the foreground, with layers of White Mountain ridges stretching into the distance. Visitors sometimes cross the deck, giving a sense of scale to the exposed mountaintop.

The deck sits within Mount Washington State Park, above the surrounding forests and valleys. Clear conditions reveal an extensive mountain panorama, while passing clouds can hide the landscape entirely. Snow and ice transform the terrace and railings during colder weather, creating a very different scene from the warmer months.

From its position inside the observatory tower, the camera captures both the summit’s public observation area and its changing weather. Ice can occasionally obstruct the lens, reflecting the harsh conditions experienced at this elevation.

Did You Know? On April 12, 1934, Mount Washington recorded a wind gust of 231 mph (372 km/h).
