Santiaguito Volcano - Quetzaltenango, Guatemala
This live webcam shows Santiaguito Volcano in western Guatemala, part of the Santa María volcanic complex near the city of Quetzaltenango. The camera is positioned roughly 8 kilometers from the volcano, offering clear views of the active lava dome complex and surrounding volcanic slopes.
Santiaguito formed after the catastrophic eruption of Santa María in 1902, one of the largest eruptions of the 20th century. Since then, the Santiaguito dome complex has remained highly active, regularly producing ash plumes, gas emissions, and occasional pyroclastic flows as lava domes grow and collapse. Santiaguito is one of the most continuously active volcanic systems in Central America.
Viewers may occasionally observe small explosive eruptions, drifting ash clouds, or steam rising from summit domes as volcanic activity continues.
