Scooters, songthaew taxis and visitors on foot pass the shops and food stalls along Chaweng Beach Road on Koh Samui, Thailand, and this street camera follows the busy road from sleepy mornings to crowded evenings.

Chaweng sits on the east coast of the island and is home to its busiest and best-known beach. Behind the road lies Chaweng Lake, and to the south the coast curves round toward Lamai, the island's second-biggest resort town.

Koh Samui lies in the Gulf of Thailand, off the coast of Surat Thani province. Most visitors arrive by ferry from the mainland or fly into the island's small airport.

Did You Know? Near Lamai stand Hin Ta and Hin Yai, two oddly shaped rocks that legend says are an elderly couple who drowned in a storm on their way to arrange their son's wedding.
