Southernmost Point Buoy Replica - Key West, Florida, USA
A full-size replica of the Southernmost Point Buoy stands at the ocean end of Duval Street in Key West, Florida, framed by tropical plants and the sign of the beach cafe next door. The red, black and yellow marker stands in a small pedestrian plaza with open water just beyond the seawall.
The replica was moved here overnight in September 2025, while the original buoy, a few blocks west at the corner of Whitehead and South Streets, is boxed in during a year-long rebuild of the seawall and plaza. Visitors still line up from sunrise until late at night for the classic photo.
Our Southernmost Point Buoy cam watches the original site a few blocks away and will show the real buoy again once the work is finished.
Did You Know? Key West is closer to Cuba than it is to Miami, which lies about 160 miles (260 km) away along the Overseas Highway.
