Oslo - Ekeberg & Grefsenkollen, Norway
This rolling camera alternates between two elevated viewpoints overlooking Oslo, switching between the Ekeberg restaurant in the south-east of the city and the Grefsenkollen restaurant to the north. Both positions sit high above the Norwegian capital, giving sweeping views across the forested hills and suburbs that surround Oslo on all sides.
The Marka, the vast forested wilderness that borders Oslo, is visible from both camera positions and covers around two thirds of the municipality's total area. It is one of the most accessible urban wilderness areas in Europe, used daily by Oslo residents for hiking, skiing, and running directly from the city edge.
The feed rotates through the day, meaning the light and perspective shift regularly. Sunrise and sunset from these elevated positions, with the city spread out below and the Oslofjord visible on clear days, make this one of the more atmospheric city overview cameras in Scandinavia.
Did You Know? The Ekeberg area where one of these cameras is positioned is believed to be the location where Edvard Munch stood when he was inspired to paint The Scream in 1893. Munch described seeing the sky turn blood red while walking on a path above the city, an experience that directly led to the creation of one of the most recognised paintings in the world.
