Aomori Airport - Aomori, Japan (Cam 2)

A second camera at Aomori Airport (青森空港) looks across the apron and runway at the northern tip of Japan's main island, Honshu, where planes park at the terminal while snow often piles up on the hills around the field.

The airport sits about 7 miles (11 km) south-southwest of Aomori Station, 650 feet (198 m) above sea level. Flights link it with Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, Nagoya and Kobe, plus international routes to Seoul and Taipei.

Aomori is best known for its Nebuta Matsuri, held every August, when huge illuminated paper floats of warriors and legends are paraded through the city streets, drawing huge crowds from all over Japan.

Did You Know? Korean Air started flying between Aomori and Seoul in 1995, and EVA Air added flights to Taipei in 2019, linking Aomori with East Asia.
