Tembo Plains Zambezi River - Mana Pools, Zimbabwe
This live camera streams from the banks of the Zambezi River at Tembo Plains Camp, a luxury safari camp within the Sapi Private Reserve just east of Mana Pools National Park in northern Zimbabwe. The feed captures one of Africa's most iconic river views, with elephant, hippo, crocodile, and a vast array of birdlife visiting the water's edge daily.
Tembo, meaning elephant in Swahili, is a fitting name for a camp that sits within one of Africa's great elephant strongholds. Mana Pools is one of the few places on the continent where elephants have learned to stand on their hind legs to reach fruit high in the trees, a behaviour unique to this population and documented by wildlife photographers who travel specifically to capture it.
Mana Pools National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Zimbabwe's most pristine wilderness areas, known for walking safaris without fences or vehicles between the guest and the wildlife.
Did You Know? The Zambezi is the fourth longest river in Africa at 2,574 kilometres, and the Mana Pools floodplain it creates here is one of the most productive wildlife habitats on the entire continent, with seasonal flooding that drives one of southern Africa's most significant annual wildlife cycles.
