Kitten Rescue Sanctuary - Los Angeles, USA (Cam 1)
Since 1997, Kitten Rescue has found homes for over 22,000 cats and kittens across Los Angeles, making it one of the largest non-profit animal welfare organisations in the city. This feed shows the nursery at their sanctuary on Casitas Avenue, where younger kittens and cats with special needs are cared for by staff while they wait for adoption.
The sanctuary houses several distinct spaces: the Kitten Nursery for the youngest and most vulnerable animals, the Romper Room where one litter or family is housed at a time, and the Adoption Center, a larger space that typically holds 15 to 20 kittens and is open to the public. Every cat that passes through Kitten Rescue is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for feline leukemia and FIV before being placed in a new home.
Around 1,200 cats and kittens are rehomed through the organisation each year, mostly via a large network of volunteer foster homes rather than the sanctuary itself.
Did You Know? The US has a kitten season running roughly from spring to autumn, when warmer temperatures trigger a surge in feral and stray cat births. During peak kitten season, shelters can receive more litters than they can bottle-feed, as newborns without a mother require feeding every two to four hours around the clock.
