Bangrak Beach - Koh Samui, Thailand
This live webcam overlooks Bangrak Beach on the northern coast of Koh Samui in Surat Thani Province, Thailand. The camera captures calm tropical waters, sandy shoreline, and relaxing beachfront seating areas where visitors gather to enjoy views across the Gulf of Thailand.
Bangrak Beach, sometimes known as “Big Buddha Beach,” is a quieter coastal area located between Bophut and Plai Laem. The beach offers peaceful ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere, making it popular for beachfront cafés, small resorts, and sunset dining along the shoreline.
From this part of the island, visitors can often see boats traveling between Koh Samui and the nearby islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. The calm waters and wide views across the bay make Bangrak one of the island’s more scenic coastal areas.
Did You Know? Bangrak Beach is named after the nearby Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai), home to a 12-meter golden Buddha statue built in 1972. The statue sits on a small offshore island connected by a causeway and has become one of Koh Samui’s most recognizable landmarks.
