Qatar Television - Doha, Qatar
Qatar Television is the state broadcaster of Qatar, broadcasting live in Arabic from Doha around the clock. The channel covers regional and international news, cultural programming, drama, and current affairs, with a particular focus on Gulf and Arab world events.
Founded in 1970, Qatar Television was the first television channel in Qatar and remains the country's primary Arabic-language public broadcaster alongside the internationally focused Al Jazeera network, which is operated separately under the same Qatar Media Corporation umbrella.
The live feed runs continuously 24 hours a day, offering a direct window into Qatari state broadcasting and Arabic-language programming from the Gulf region.
Did You Know? Qatar Television launched just one year before Qatar gained full independence from Britain in 1971, making it one of the few national broadcasters that predates the country it serves. Its first broadcast was a simple test signal transmitted from a small studio in Doha, a long way from the modern media infrastructure Qatar operates today.
