Majete Stream Cam 3 - Chikwawa, Malawi
This live webcam overlooks a rocky woodland stream in Majete Wildlife Reserve in southern Malawi. Shallow pools wind between scattered boulders, with grasses along the banks and dense vegetation rising behind them. Tall trees shade sections of the channel, while patches of sunlight reach the water and exposed stones.
The stream provides a different perspective from the reserve’s open waterholes. Here, the view follows a sheltered corridor through the woodland, with rocks, fallen branches, and undergrowth creating cover beside the water. Wildlife may appear along the banks or move through the trees beyond the channel.
Majete’s wider landscape includes rolling hills, grassy plains, and mixed woodland. This small scene captures the more enclosed side of that habitat, where water and vegetation meet beneath the canopy. Changes in light and water level alter the appearance of the pools, revealing different details among the rocks and banks.
Did You Know? Majete became the first reserve managed by African Parks in 2003, beginning a restoration program that brought back locally lost wildlife.
